Acacia Limelight

A wonderful mounding foliage shrub from our Australian neighbours. 'Limelight' has a big, bushy, 'fro hair do made up of fine cascading green foliage. Well behaved in a container or the garden. Great landscaping plant. Happy in sun or part shade in light well drained soil. Evergreen PVR.

Acacia 'Limelight' should only be given a very light dressing of slow release fertilizer in the autumn as it is not a greedy plant and shouldn't be over fertilized.

Callistemon Little John

A compact, dwarf form of the ever popular Australian 'Bottle Brush'. Masses of dark red flowers in summer that attract birds. Loves the sun and good drainage and will be quite drought tolerant once established. Tidy grey-green stiff foliage. Could be used as a hedge. Evergreen.

Callistemon Rocky Rambler

Bottle Brush. A spreading low growing form of this popular Australian shrub. During the summer it smothers itself with bright red 'bottle brush' flowers that are tinged with gold. Loves hot dry areas and happy on the coast. Quite drought tolerant once established. Evergreen.

Members of the Callistemon family or 'Bottle Brush' as they are commonly known do not like too much fertilizer. The safest way to give them some nutrients is with a slow release product but remember in this case 'less is more'.

Ceanothus Blue Sapphire

An attractive spreading evergreen shrub which features sparkling clusters of dark blue flowers in late spring. The shiny foliage turns a deeps ebony shade during winter, changing to dark chocolate-green during spring and summer. Quite hardy and tolerant of wind and cold. PVR 1334.

This is a very useful shrub for cascading over walls and banks. Benefits from a trim every now and then (after flowering) to encourage healthy new growth. Very striking in full flower.

Ceanothus Snow Flurry

The dark green shiny foliage of this evergreen shrub comes to life in spring when it is smothered with sprays of pure white flowers. Loves a hot dry position so is great for banks and walls. Doesn't like harsh frost and benefits from a good trim after flowering.

Choisya White Dazzler

A wonderful easy care shrub with a neat and tidy habit. Narrow dark green aromatic foliage that always looks good. In spring and summer masses of white star shaped flowers open from pale pink buds. Will grow in sun or part shade, prefers an acid soil but overall is really quite tolerant. Evergreen.

Coprosma Inferno

Dodonea V Purpurea

Ake Ake. A no fuss evergreen foliage shrub that can be used for hedging or background planting. The slightly wavy leaves are shaded purple and bronze and will have better colour if not over-fed or pampered. Will grow just about anywhere except full shade. Evergreen.

Gardenia Grandiflora Star

Glossy green foliage and fragrant, single creamy white blooms that are, yes, you guessed it, star shaped. Plant in a semi-shaded, frost free position where you can make the most of the sensuous perfume. Happy in a container as long as fed regularly. Evergreen.

Gardenias are gross feeders - meaning that like me they like lots of tucker. Regular liquid feeding will keep them healthy and happy or side dress with slow release fertilizer.

Ilex F Sky Sentry

'Sky Sentry' AKA as 'Sky Pencil' is a wonderfully architectural plant with its strong upright, columnar habit. The small, dark green, glossy leaves hug the upright stems and always look tidy. Use where you want to make a punctuation mark in the garden. Easy to grow in sun or part shade.

'Sky Sentry' is a female form of Holly but needs a male for the flowers to turn into berries. Currently there is no male form on offer. 'Sky Sentry' has been awarded a Royal Horticulture Society Award of Garden Merit.
