Dying Port Wine Magnolias (from Andrea) Saturday, 10th October 2009 09:21:52 AM
We have 3 standard Port Wine Magnolias all of which are about 4 years old. All of a sudden they leaves start to face downwards and slowly the plant dies in sections. We have had one completely die and now I see one other is also starting to do the same. The leaves show no sign of pests or other problems. We also had a Magnolia Mixed up Miss do the same thing about a year ago. It wasn't close to these plants but on the same side of the section.

could be too wet or a soil borne wilt fungus can cause them to wilt collapse and die usually they are quite hardy though
