Sunday, 31st August 2008 04:22:43 PM

Why is my 4 m tall Pittosporum euginoides losing its leaves? I thought they were evergreen. It has lost about 3/4 of its leaves and they are still falling?mwwsm

evergreen trees sometimes drop their leaves when they are under stress or if they are going to flush with new spring leaves. A major moult may mean that they are possibily going to die. Usually time will indicate. Trees do have a life span or if their immediate surrounding change ie earthworks or even a soil borne fungus can cause a tree to die.
