Has any one grown roses specifically for Rose Bud Tea? If so, which varieties produce the best and sweetest flavour?

If you mean to drink tea made of petals, the best by far are from Rosa Rugosa Alba. If you mean to drink Rose HIP tea, made from the berry-like fruit that follows the flower, many varities can be used, such as Ballerinabut again, Rosa Rugosa is known to have the best flavour and the hightest Vitamin C content.

In Asia Rosebud tea is made from dark pink rose buds, rather that petals. I'm sure a pink variety is available but I will try your recommendation. Thanks.

Ive found the following variety - R.damascena var. biferais - excellent for rose bud tea (available overseas). Is this available in NZ?
