I was sent this delicious sounding recipe but haven't had a chance to try it yet.Give it a go and let me know what you think.

Almond Pear and Chocolate Cake
340g almond meal
60g desiccated coconut
200g castor sugar
4 eggs
2tsp vanilla extract
1/2 whole nutmeg seed, finely grated
50ml pure maple syrup
200g butter, melted, at room temperature
2 ripe pears, peeled, cored, finely sliced
100g dark chocolate buttons
1.Preheat oven to 170C and line a 24cm round spring form tin with baking paper.
2.In a large mixing bowl, combine almond meal, coconut and caster sugar.
3.In a separate large mixing bowl whisk together eggs, vanilla, nutmeg and maple syrup until lightly frothy.Whisk in melted butter.Add to dry mix and combine.
4.Pour 1/2 of the batter into prepared tin.Top with 1/2 of the pear, scatter over half the chocolate buttons, then pour over remaining batter.Put remaining pear and buttons on top of batter and gently tap tin on bench to remove any bubbles.
5.Bake for 1 hour or until cooked when tested with a skewer.Allow cake to cool completely in tin.
