There really is only one word for NZ's 'Gala' apple - superb. Crisp, crunchy, white juicy flesh that is aromatic and just tastes so good when picked straight off the tree. Nice red blush to the yellow skin. Ripe in February. On M9 rootstock to keep compact and should be supported by a stake. Deciduous.
'Fuji' is a Tip Bearer meaning that the flowers and fruit are produced on the end of branches i.e. branch tips - be mindful of this when pruning. The fruit will store well for months if refrigerated.
Suitable for warmer areas including Auckland/Northland
