A new variety that is slightly more upright in its growth than wider and more blight-resistant. With compact growth and year round fresh, glossy green foliage they make a great border or clipped hedge. Can be trimmed into a ball to make a statement piece or as a specimen in a container. Evergreen.

'Graham Blandy' is an upright sort of chap who will always stand up tall and erect in the garden. With a natural columnar habit this Box is perfect for adding an exclamation point to planting schemes. Easy to grow in sun or part shade. Evergreen.

Ideal for narrow spaces or group together to form a natural screen of green. Perhaps march along the side of a path or drive. A very useful plant for directional planting.

Sasanqua. This is a really good looking Camellia with fine narrow dark green foliage that looks good all year round. In very early autumn the bush is covered in tight buds that open to pretty semi-double flowers are white blushed with rose pink edges. Tolerates sun or shade. Evergreen. PVR CML013.

This Camellia is a great screen or hedging plant. Clips well and always looks good. Remarkably tolerant but will do best in semi-shade with nicely mulched roots. I have 2 of these on different sides of the property and both flower extremely well. Information Page

Sasanqua. An elegant free-flowering variety producing masses of brilliant pink buds, which open to dazzling white double blooms. Quick growing, ideal for hedging, topiary, containers or as a garden specimen. More tolerant of full sun than many other Camellias. PVR. Evergreen.

Hybrid. Desirable for the upright slender growth habit. Small, scented, single pure white flowers with golden stamens appear from autumn through to late spring. These are offset against very dark green foliage. Ideal for driveway and group planting. Happiest in semi shade. Evergreen.

I have a group of these growing against a grey fence in the garden, they are remarkably tolerant of heat and sun though I am sure they would be happier in part shade. Even though the situation is less than ideal they flower for months. Information Page

This smooth skinned variety of Feijoa also has smooth juicy flesh with a rich flavour. Pounamu has a high fruit yield and is ready early in the season around the end of March. Plant in a sunny well drained position preferably with another Feijoa for company. Evergreen.

Bushy evergreen shrub with tiny oval deep green leaves. Small creamy white fragrant flowers in summer. Often used as a faster growing Box substitute. Ideal for topiary work and very effective for hedging. Fast growing and hardy.

If you want to quickly establish a nice compact low hedge then this is the plant for you. Lonicera needs a little more clipping than Box but it is very easy to maintain. When used for hedging or topiary then the flowers and fruit will be non existent.

The summer flowers are much loved by birds especially the native Tui whose beak is perfectly formed to gather nectar from the blooms.

A particularly nice form of Pittosporum with fresh green glossy foliage that always looks good. Perfect plant for screens and hedging as it responds well to clipping. Happiest in sun or part shade and likes well drained fertile soil, is tolerant of less than ideal conditions. Hardy and evergreen.

Pittosporums bloom in spring with inconspicuous dark purple-brown flowers that will only come to your attention when you notice their strong fragrance on the evening air.

NZ Native. This shrub is very well named - the tiny rounded leaves are a pale silvery green and certainly do seem to shimmer in the light. Forms a very nice background plant or can be used for hedging and topiary as it loves a regular hair-cut. Easy to grow in a sunny well drained spot. Evergreen.

Naringa is the best hedging Westringia available for medium to tall hedges. Tidy form with masses of mauve coloured flowers in spring and regularly at other times. Needs pruning about half as much as other Westringias, and in a natural setting, probably not at all. PVR.WES01
