aka Pigsqueak

Attractive leathery large leaves and clusters of delicate flowers carried on upright spikes in winter to early spring. The flowers are enchanting, opening a crisp white and maturing to pale pink, creating drifts of pretty white to pale pink flowers displayed beautifully against contrasting foliage.

This gorgeous Bergenia has delicious clusters of white, bell-shaped flowers that fade to pink, appearing in late winter through into Summer. The foliage itself is green but has red tones in winter. Forms a nice tidy rosette. Easy to grow in sun or part shade. Hardy. Evergreen perennial.

Attractive, large, heart shaped leaves of glossy green and topped off with stalks of soft pink flowers in late winter and spring. Excellent ground-cover for sun or semi-shade, can cope with moist spots. Hardy, reliable and semi-evergreen.

aka Mexican Lily

A bold landscaping plant with cream and green arching variegated leaves up to 1m long that form a large clump. In spring a flower spike with dark pink bracts rises above the the foliage. Can be grown in sun or part shade. Drought tolerant once established. Best protected from frost. Evergreen. PVR.

This variety of Beschorneria is considered to more cold hardy than others. It will probably tolerate a light frost but will do better in a warm well drained spot with protection from harsh conditions. Suitable for a container and would certainly look quite dramatic in one.

Large, silvery white leaves lightly veined in green. This vigorous variety has thicker, non-melting leaves that stand up well to heat and humidity. Loose clusters of tiny blue flowers float above the foliage in spring. Brunnera prefer well drained, moist soil enriched with organic matter. Perennial

Use Brunnera to add interest under deciduous trees or shrubs. The leaves are quite large and bold when mature. Just a little bit different.

aka Burn jelly plant, snake flower

Succulent from southern Africa with long fleshy leaves. It has star-shaped, yellow or orange flowers that are borne in clusters on upright inflorescences. Flowers have pretty tufted (bearded) stamens and are produced in late spring and throughout Summer. Prefers sheltered position. Perennial.

Leaves contain a jelly-like substance that can be used to treat skin infections and wounds.

aka Feather Reed Grass

Ornamental variegated grass with green and white foliage. Flowers with upright spikes of green, red and bronze colourations then fade to a light brown. Enjoys moist soil in part shade to full sun. this grass goes dormant in the coolest winter months.

This little Australian native is hardy to drought, frost and salt spray. Tiny silver grey leaves are pressed tight against the stems to form a twisted and contorted little cushion. Happiest in the light soil and an open sunny position. Evergreen.

This delightful little perennial has a cluster of fresh green foliage and a spreading habit. In spring and summer a profusion of violet-blue star-shaped flowers do their best to smother the foliage. Prefers a cool position with protection from afternoon sun. Great rockery plant. Evergreen.
