Roses are easy to grow and are amongst the most tolerant of plants. Obviously, with the correct feeding and cultivation techniques they will perform to their absolute best. However even if you are the most neglectful gardener you should still be able to enjoy the perfection of a rose bush in bloom. Rugosa. Bred in France this is an old fashioned rose with scented semi-double flowers of rich magenta pink. The foliage is lush, dark green and heavily veined. In a good season the flowers are followed by dark red ornamental hips. Repeat flowers but not continuously. Shows good disease resistance, award winner. 1894.

Austin. Showy double, cupped red rosette blooms with a hint of orange. Very fragrant and vigorous strong growth. Definitely a 'standout' as was the English Composer this rose is named after. PVR. 2001. Deciduous

Floribunda. A showy rose with an amazingly generous display of deep rich yellow flowers through out the season. A very vigorous healthy grower with a tidy upright growth habit. (Not to be confused with climbing rose of the same name.) PVR Deciduous

Floribunda. Betty Boop is a good looking gal with eye-catching blonde yellow blooms edged in red. She smells good too! Medium growth habit and dark glossy foliage. Makes a spectacular display. Award winner. PVR.

Hybrid Tea. Another great Sam McGredy rose with large, full, classic shaped flowers of clear orange scarlet. The strong single blooms look wonderful in the garden or in floral arrangements and carry a gentle fragrance. 1993. PVR.

Hybrid Tea. Bred in NZ this sturdy rose has large, very fragrant blooms of deep rich purple. Blooms continuously from summer through to autumn and combines well with other roses in the garden. Fantastic for picking. 1987. PVR.

Climber. Mr Toogood of Melbourne found the seedling of this simply beautiful rose on his birthday and what a present! Spring flowering with dark, velvet red, double flowers that are very fragrant and excellent for picking. An enduring gift to celebrate a loved ones birthday. 1950.

Hybrid Tea. Absolutely drop dead gorgeous blooms of velvety deep garnet-red from ebony black buds. Good bushy habit and dark green foliage. Delicate perfume, continuous flowering from spring through to autumn. Yum Yum you've got to have one. 1973.
