Grevillea is an evergreen shrub with curiously shaped flowers, hence it’s common names Spider Flower, Silky Oak and Toothbrush plant. Add winter colour to your garden with Grevillea, they grow in most NZ climates, some varieties will not tolerate frost, so choose the plant best suited to your environment. Flowers appear generally from winter into summer, some varieties flower year-round. Easy to grow and easy care, Grevillea like a sunny sheltered position. For best results prepare the area before planting by digging in well-rotted compost. Grevillea varieties include ground covers, small and medium sized shrubs and striking standards.

A mat-forming shrub has deeply lobed evergreen oak-like leaves and burgundy-red spring flowers. The leaves flush bronze and mature to dark green. Toothbrush-shaped clusters of dark red flowers appear along the stems from late winter to late spring, and sometimes again in fall.
