A very special deciduous tree with a upright columnar habit. The distinctive fresh green foliage is large and lobed and turns a warm golden yellow in autumn. The summer flowers are also most distinctive - tulip shaped, fragrant and coloured green with an orange base. Deciduous.
The Liriodendron is commonly known as the 'Tulip Tree' because of the shape of flowers. 'Arnold' may take 3 to 4 years to flower after planting. Happy in sun or part shade in deep acid soil that does not dry out completely in summer.
